1938-S Texas Independence Silver Commemorative Half Dollar - PCGS MS 66 Scott #700 • Initials W1938 S Texas Independence Silver Commemorative Half Dollar PCGS MS 66 This issue was struck in commemoration of the independence of Texas in 1836. The obverse features a large 5 pointed star situated behind an eagle while the reverse displays an allegorical winged Liberty flanked by the busts of General Sam Houston and Stephen Austin. Struck from 1934 to 1938 it was struck across all three mints between 1935 and 1938. Mintages: 1934: 61,463 1935:
